Take Me Out to the....Fair!

We spent a terrific day with our family at a county fair last week. Cousins S, N & A, along with Nana & Aunt Shelley made up the group.  It was a beautiful, unusually cool summer day and we were all excited to spend the day together.  I hadn't taken K & T to a fair before, but I knew that they would love all of the new sites, sounds & people watching!  They did really well, and I'm so glad that they always seem to just go with the flow.  K will try just about any food once, T is always up for an adventure, and I love watching them experience new things.  Here are some pics from our fantastic & fun day!

Happy K ready for adventure
Checking out the art entries, the girls liked anything with glitter or the color purple.
K was all smiles to be with her some of her favorite people.
Mr T stared at this tractor for quite a few minutes, he kept calling it a mower.  He's a tad obsessed.
Waiting for the parade to begin.
While we were waiting, K pointed out these two school buses to me, several times.  "Look Mom, 2 buses! 2!"  She reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally wants to ride a bus.  She will be very happy when they are out driving around when the school year starts.
The parade began with a horse drawn carriage.
Next came this crowd.  The kids loved seeing the horses wearing 'hats'.
While those horses were rounding the corner, music began playing, and T, our in house musician, just stared and stared and sat perfectly still on Nana's lap.  It was a sight he hadn't ever seen before....
...a marching band!  They played a couple of songs and the kids enjoyed dancing along to the beat.
There were lots more horses, homemade floats and 4H clubs to be seen, finally, this group wrapped it all up.  We headed out to see more of the fair.
Our next stop was the goat barn.  Doesn't it look like we interrupted an important conversation between these two goats by the look they are giving us?
Aunt Shelley helping K pet the goats.
T didn't want to get too close, notice his body language.
This pig is a grand prize winner!  (btw, he's sleeping)
K thought these bunnies were oh so cute.
Guess what K & Nana are looking at....
Turkeys!  Check out this gorgeous guy. He had his tail feathers out for our entire visit.
After lots of walking, animal looking and hand washing, it was time for lunch.  What to choose, what to choose.
Corndogs for these girlies.
and one for Nana too!
We washed it down with something sweet, ice cream and snowcones. MMmmmmm
K chose the colors for her snowcone, orange and blue.  Guess they didn't have pink and purple, her two current favorite colors.
During our lunch Nana took a phone call.  T noticed...
and helped himself to some of her ice cream. Silly guy.
After lunch we hit the rides.  All K wanted to do was ride a 'puppy that does up and down'.  She did.
This guy landed on a horse.
The girls went with the classic horse as well.
This car driving ride that went round and round was also popular.  Check out these happy kids!
K opted for a seat by herself, behind T &A.
Kids in action.
Love T's intensity, and look at K's smile!
We walked to one more ride before heading out, the ferris wheel.  That's Aunt Shelley & S waving from way up there.
N wanted to take a turn too, so Nana boldly jumped in and took one for the team.  See her excitement?
We had grand time at the fair, I would gladly take K & T back next year.  Where else can you eat a snow cone, watch horses wear cool hats, people watch and pet a goat?  Count us in!
