Fishies, & Turtles & Frogs, Oh My!

We spent quite a bit of time at a local aquarium this summer.  K & T each have favorite things to watch and look for while we are there. I think that T's fave are the poison dart frogs, and K's are the seahorses.  They each talked about these animals quite a bit after each of our trips.  We learned a lot about sealife on our visits, and even got to touch some of the animals.  After this summer of daytrips to the zoo and the aquarium, I am even more impressed with the variety of life that is on the Earth.  Only a loving Heavenly Father could create such a wonderful world!   Take a look at what we spotted at the aquarium:
I am simply fascinated by turtles, especially sea turtles.  Watching sea turtles hatch on a beach is on my bucket list.
Two of the cutest creatures at the aquarium!
Sharks!
Can you imagine seeing one of these without the glass case to protect you? Yikes.
This is his thinking-I'm just checking things out-face.
Watching the frogs hop, hop hop.
Every time I tried to move the stroller past the frogs T insisted we stay.
He watched this particular one for quite some time.  The frog would climb the glass and hop off.  T would giggle and giggle!
Climbing a giant frog!
The jellyfish room is one of our very favorite places to be. Aren't they beautiful?
Measuring up!
After this particular trip we grabbed a snowcone and ate it outside.  K was super happy to be the holder of the cup.
T's first bite...
He loved it!
On another trip we had a special guest come with us....
Daddy!  He helped K reach in to touch some fish right away.
T's turn.  He's not afraid of anything.
She's always excited to see new things.
Can you spot the seahorses?  K found them.
As you walk by this tank you hear just about every child say, "Nemo!"
Looking at an alligator.
Mommy & T
Of course Daddy wanted to show them how to play Frogger on this huge set.  He was a champ back in the day.
Touching more fish.
I just love these two to pieces! Being their mom is more than a dream come true.
At the gift shop T was trying to convince us that he needed all of these.  He actually settled on a turtle that he sleeps with in his crib.  K chose a hot pink shark.
We had worked up an appetite on this trip, so we stopped for lunch at Tom & Chee, a yummy grilled cheese restaurant.
She ate her entire classic grilled cheddar cheese sandwich on wheat, and part of Andy's Three Little Pig sandwich (ham, bacon, swiss & cheddar cheese with spicy pork rinds on rye bread) too. Wow, she & her adult tastebuds continue to surprise me every day.
This guy tried the grilled cheese, but preferred the fruit.  No surprise there, just glad he tries things.

On one last trip, we met up with our pals Karen & her sweet daughter Val!  They are such fun and caring people to play with.  They didn't mind carrying/chasing/holding hands with K & T who both wanted to walk around a lot.
K loved playing this drum LOUDLY!
Of course we all wanted to touch the fish, see what great helpers Karen & Val were?  I just got to hang back & take pics!
T led Val all over the aquarium, he wanted to touch everything!
More fish handling.
How cool!  These are just awesome creatures.
Karen's turn to be on T's trail.
Getting close & personal with more fish!  Thanks Val!
K loves my friend Karen.  She gave her a big hug before we departed for the afternoon.
We really enjoyed our trips to aquarium.  Seeing so many animals up close is always a fantastic experience, but doing it with friends makes it even better.
