A family tradition started by my mother a few years ago, took place just a few days before Christmas. Nana Cookie Day! The morning where the grandkids come over and make cookies with my mom. She has everything ready when we get there, Nana is very organized. Shelley and I stay to help with crowd control, clean up messes, and give help where needed. It's a busy, but fun morning. I know that K & T will look forward to this day for years to come. I'm so thankful that our family lives close so that kids can create so many memories with their Nana.

| K got busy with a project right away. She found the popcorn and cranberry strings on my parents' tree so interesting, that Nana had the materials out for K to make a string for her little tree at home. K did great at this! I could tell she felt so grown up using a real needle and thread. She meticulously counted out 5 popcorn kernals and then strung on a cranberry and repeated the pattern very carefully. She worked on this for quite some time while the cookie making was going on. K did indeed run up and put it on her tree when we got home later that afternoon. Next year Nana has promised K that she can help her with the big strings for Nana's tree. |

| Cutie baby J walked around and played for most of the morning. Isn't he so handsome?!? He probably had a cookie or two too. |
 |
| Cousins T & S got to work on painting cookies. Auntie Shelley was right there to help get them started. Nana had these ones baked and iced, so all the kids had to do was paint! This was one of the most popular cookie tasks, someone was painting there for most of the morning. |

The goodies we took home from the kids' hard work. We left some out for Santa a couple days later, his note said he loved them.
Thanks for the fun morning Nana, we love cookie day! |
