K & T are completely into helping right now, and they really don't take 'not now' or 'no' for answer very easily, which I know is a good thing. They want to 'be big' and do all kinds of things that we do, including cooking and cleaning. One recent Saturday our project was to paint our front door. It was originally red, but it had begun to fade to an odd shade of purple in the morning sun. Andy & I tagged team on the project, he took it off the front of the house and sanded it, and then I primed and painted it. We did it over two days to allow dry time, since it was to rain all weekend. Our little sidekicks were on the ready the whole time!
| T grabbed his tools when he saw what Andy was doing, and wanted to be right in there, side by side with Daddy. |
| T was so excited when Andy let his hold the screws that were holding the door in place. You would have thought he won the lottery! |
| It got a little loud when Andy was sanding, can you tell? |
| They got used to it though. While Andy was sanding, rain started to come down and K & T stood at the front of the garage just watching the rain pour. Then this happened…. |
| They scooted out in it. We didn't stop them. They seemed to be enjoying themselves. |
| He started jumping. |
| And they both ran around, T with his tongue out to try to catch some. |
| After a bit, they looked like this, and Daddy was done with the door. |
| Then they asked for umbrellas. |
| And they ran and ran some more! |
It was a successful weekend. Our door got finished, the rain watered the lawn, and K & T had blast, as usual. I hope they will always find moments to enjoy the rain!
