A couple of days ago we got a package in the mail and K &T were so excited! Even though it wasn't for them, they had a ball squeezing the air pouches that were inside the box, and then they began to play with the box. They played with that box for two solid days! I sent a picture to Andy of their box fun, and he asked if we should just take all their presents back. :) Silly guy.
Throughout this Christmas season my heart has been especially full because of K & T. I love playing with them, caring for them, just being with them. I am so blessed to be their mommy. I don't know how I ever got so lucky. We have loved opening the book presents each night and reading them together snuggled in our bed, singing Christmas carols throughout the day, driving around looking at lights and talking about baby Jesus and the true reason for Christmas.
Without Christ I don't know if I could have survived the wait for K & T. Infertility is a very painful and personal journey, one that I wouldn't wish for anyone. Holidays are especially hard if one doesn't have the family members with them that they love, or the family size that they desire. Grief of any kind is hard. Loss is hard. Love can be hard too.
I am so thankful that Christ came to the earth as that babe, wrapped in swaddling clothes and grew to be the man that would teach us all to know our Heavenly Father. I'm thankful to know Him, and to know that He loves me too. He knows our pain, He can relieve our pain if we but ask in prayer, and He can bring great joy. The Savior lives and loves us now and forever.
Merry, Merry Christmas to you all!
