For my Mom's birthday this year, all she wanted was a new family photo. It had been over a decade since we had had a professional take our pics, and this year, it seemed was the year. Taking a family photo has been a bit of a difficult topic of discussion since the passing of my beloved sister Jenny in 2004. That's probably the main reason we haven't taken a photo in so long. No one felt like doing it and it just didn't seem right.
(Insert deep breath, think of great memories, and remember the Lord has a plan.)
There has, however, been lots of beautiful little ones that have come into our family since then, and it finally seemed ok. We found a day that everyone could come, gathered up our navy blue, apple green, cream and gray and hired a talented team for our photo shoot. Here are some of the results!
| Our family |
| My parents with their children (this is the most difficult photo as Jenny is so obviously missing) |
| My parents with their grandbabies |
| Me & my sister Emma |
| The men in the family |
| The girls |
| My parents |
| My brother Andrew, his wife Shelley and their sweet daughter S. |
| My new, very favorite family photo of the four of us. |
We were so pleased with the photos, and although we all thought of Jenn during the day, we know that capturing our family in photos is an important thing to do. Hopefully it won't be a decade until we do it again!
