Paper Placement

It was one year ago today that we got the phone call of our lives.  From what I understand, a judge, after a 2 hour hearing from our caseworker, the State, and the birthmother of K & T (who bravely was in favor of adoption) granted Andy & I placement of the kids.  We hadn't even met the kids.  This judge hadn't met us, only had a letter that we had written, and of course our adoption profile.  We had continued to pray for weeks, along with many others that the Lord's will be done for K & T, and that the kids would go to the right home no matter what. We so badly wanted to be parents, but in the right situation for us and them.

Our caseworker called me at work to tell me, and I can hardly describe the feelings of overwhelming gratitude for my Savior, and of excitedness to have my dreams of becoming a mother come true in that long phone call.  It didn't quite feel real, but in that call we were given some directions of things we had to do (sign paperwork that very night) and the plan to meet OUR KIDS in the coming days. I was in shock for quite some time, but we had so much to do.  We didn't know much about the kids yet, we hadn't seen even one picture, didn't know their sizes, general health, likes/dislikes etc.  We had so many questions about them, especially how to make the transition easy for them, but knew that if we prayed for help it would come.

I didn't want this important anniversary to go by unnoticed, I've been thinking about it all month.  It was the day a miracle happened.  We are thankful for a wise judge.  We are ever so thankful to K & T's birthfamilies. We are grateful that they puts the kids' needs ahead of their own.  How very difficult this must be, and we will be eternally thankful.  I do hope that if they choose, that they can peek into this blog and see how very special K & T are to so many people.  These sweet babies are our miracles.  They are happy, they are healthy, they have added so much joy to our home, and their adoption into our family is absolutely the best thing that has happened to us.  They are each other's best friend. They complete us.
