8:15- We heard T start talking to himself on the monitor, he chatted to himself and banged his binky on the crib as usual
8:30- Andy got T up, changed him into playclothes
8:45- I heard K jumping in her bed and singing loudly to herself (or her babies)
8:50- got K up, changed her into playclothes
9:00- Andy fed T a bottle, drank 7 ounces
9:10- K drank cup of milk, didn't want breakfast just then (She was excited about a stay-home day!)
9:10-9:30, kids playing with toys downstairs
9:30- took kiddos to local bakery to order a cake for T's bday
10:00- grabbed celebration donuts for breakfast
10:15- K & T eating late breakfast, mostly milk & blueberries for K, glazed donut, blueberries & water for our sweet tooth, Mr. T
10:45- kiddos playing, looking out window, dreary/rainy day outside, but so much joy in our hearts
11:30- gave kids a snack, changed diapers, checked to be sure we had everything ready
12:15- on the road for Columbus, T asleep within 20 minutes, K watched Lady & The Tramp, very rainy for first half of the drive
2:15- arrived in downtown Columbus, took a few minutes to find a parking place & a few trips around the block, parked in a parking garage, changed K & T into dressclothes and changed diapers, walked to Courthouse from parking garage, about 2 blocks with K & T, windy & warm
2:45- met our attorney & our caseworker, was briefed on the proceeding, fed T bottle, K walked down the hall to extended family and back to us several times as we were talking
3:00- entered courtroom with our entire family, was seated at a table with Andy, K & T, attorney & caseworker at other table, stood when judge entered, judge gave directions, attorney asked both Andy & I questions about our intentions and asked other information about ourselves and our marriage. Extended family asked to leave, judge asked us more questions and explained legality of adoption (T sat on Andy's lap for most of this, K walked in the back of the courtroom, drew on her magnadoodle and played on the chairs). Caseworker testified on our behalf. Attorney spoke. Judge invited extended family back in, gave ruling. K & T ARE OURS!!! Tears of joy. Lots of hugs.
3:40- took pictures with judge and family, waited for paperwork
4:00- extended family left for home, we changed diapers at the courthouse and prepared for home. said a prayer of thanks. K fell asleep. T watched Lady & The Tramp
5:00- stopped at outlet for a watch battery :). grabbed some french fries and milk from McDonalds for K, T snacked on puffs and goldfish crackers
6:40- pulled into driveway, unpacked car, changed K & T into playclothes, Mom & Shelley brought us chinese food from one of our favorite places for dinner...a new tradition of chinese food on Oct 2 is born!
7:00- fed kids dinner, played with kids, read books
8:00- bedtime routine
9:00- still pinching ourselves with glee. The Lord is so good, we have been so very blessed. It has been a day to remember forever.
