| Decked out in a fish shirt, holding a firetruck, T is ready for F day. |
On the morning of F day, the kids helped me find shirts that had "F" things on them. Who knew it would be so easy to do! I try to talk to them about the letter that we're doing for the day, and point it out when I see it. They are both pretty good at hearing the beginning sounds of words and naming what it is.

| Miss K in her flamingo shirt. |
| T also noted that Friend, the little blue blanket bear he's holding here, starts with F. Yippee! |
| We started the day by bringing donuts to the firefighters, K & T loved picking what kind to bring. We were at the firehouse to see our friend Kevin, who is a lieutenant there. K & T spend a lot of time at Kevin & Heather's house during the school year, as Heather watches them a couple of days a weeks for us. They love going there, and they were both super excited to see Kevin at his work. We met up with Heather with her children, and Lian with her two. Lian's daughter C, is one of K & T's favorite friends at church. |
| Our tour of the firehouse started off with this ambulance. Kevin shared what an ambulance is for and what happens inside with the kids. |
| K is a good listener, and always find a way to make a connection to what she hears, although the story she tells might not actually be true. :) |
| Here's the crew (minus Lian's baby) posing for a quick pic. |
| T had lots of questions for Kevin about how things work on this ladder truck. |
| Future firefighter? |
| Kr, C & T having a little pow wow. Looks important. |
| The Chief came out and asked the kids if they wanted to spray a firehose. It didn't take but a second for the kiddos to say yes and start pulling the hose. |
| They followed directions and worked together well. |
| Success! |
| The Chief told them to hold it up high... |
| And he ran under it! What a cool guy. Everyone else stayed dry. :) |
| We got to hear sirens and see the lights, as one should when one visits a firehouse. |
| T really wanted to drive, but settled for being belted in. |
| Future fire chief? |
| This cutie loved wearing these headphones. |
| Firemen laundry. |
| Taking a look at the hose room. |
| The kids ran up to the top of the room and looked down at me. |
| Kevin awarded the kids badges and coloring books, they loved them. |
| Checking out some fire gear. |
| There isn't a pole for firefighters to actually use at this firehouse, but there is a small one for decoration. Heather helped the kids get on it. |
| Of course T wanted one more turn, and he actually slid down himself! |
F is for Firetrucks, it was a fun and full day! A big thanks to Kevin and his firefighter buddies for letting us come visit, and more importantly, helping others each and every day they go to work.
Daddy wanted to participate in F day, so we ate dinner at:
| of course! |
| They loved their firehats. |
| Cheese! |
| Chow time. |
| We ended the day with one last F treat, Frosties! |
| Mmmm. A fantastic finish. |
