I've documented a couple of important events in our family like the paper placement day & the day we met K & T for the first time on this blog before, so today I just want to celebrate K & T's gotcha day. Gotcha Day, in the adoption community, is the day that the child (or children) comes into the family and can be celebrated in a number of ways. We choose to celebrate K & T's similarly to a birthday.
We have several important days that we could choose from including our paper placement day on March 27, or the day we met the kids on March 29, perhaps October 2, the day our adoption was final, or October 13, the day we were sealed in the temple as a forever family. We choose, this day, March 31, the day we actually brought K & T home in 2012, as their Gotcha Day. (We celebrated it last year too). What a grand day that was. Andy & I have talked about our memories a lot this weekend, how nervous we were for the transition for the kids, how unreal everything felt, how perfect the kids were, and how very good the Lord is. There was a plan for us all, and it is such a wonderful one.
K & T are incredible children, they learn quickly, they are smart, they are adorable and they are oh-so- funny. Here is a little bit about what they are up to right now. It's a bonus learning post!
K weighs 36 lbs, is 43 inches tall and wears a size 9.5 toddler shoe. She wears all 4 T pants, and some 3 & 4 T shirts, she continues to be tall one! She talks a mile a minute, knows all of the uppercase and lowercase letters (with a little confusion between m & w), can count to 12 and loves to 'read' stories. She retells her favorites to T throughout the day, and wants to take over reading at bedtime that we do together. She is very obedient, mothers T all day long, and has an active imagination. K is a joy to be around, she is happy, healthy and is my favorite little girl in the universe!

Favorite snacks: microwave popcorn, apples, fruit snacks. She continues to not have a huge sweet tooth, preferring salty and crunchy snacks.
Favorite outside activity: blowing bubbles, kicking the soccer ball, swinging, going on walks, playing with sidewalk chalk
Favorite outfit: anything sparkly, and she won't wear plain white socks
Favorite shoes: her glittery silver slip on shoes, or her silver boots

Oh T, he's grown up so much recently and seems more and more like a little boy and less and less like a baby these days. Although I tell him that he will always be my baby. He weighs 31 lbs, is 40 inches tall and wears size 8.5 toddler shoe. He wears a 2T pant and we have just brought out the 3T size for length, we have to cinch them really tight in the waist. He wears just a few 2T shirts and lots of 3T. He is tall too! He is almost a head taller than some of his friends. He talks just about as much as K, knows the letters o, t and s. He can count to 10 and sings just about all day long. He is learning his colors and shapes and likes to look at books. He loves anything with music, likes to bang on our piano, and has some great dance moves especially if they involve running. He likes to challenge us at times, but always does it with his cute smile. He can be a big tease to his sister, but is also very thoughtful and caring. When he gets his milk cup from the fridge, he gets her juice cup, just about every time! T is a blast to be around, he is happy, healthy and is my favorite little boy in the universe!
Favorite color: blue, red or orange
Favorite song: Itsy Bitsy Spider, 5 Little Monkeys, Popcorn Popping and Goodnight Sweetheart
Favorite saying: "No Never!" in answer to many questions and requests, but he says it with a cheesy smile
Favorite foods: mini pancakes with syrup or dipped in jam, raw carrots, almost any fruit, pickles, black olives, applesauce, cookies, popsicles, ice cream, and crackers
Favorite books: Family Huddle, No David, Oh David, and Halloween counting book that we have
Favorite game: Hide & Seek
Favorite toys: his "Friend", the blue animal/security blanket that Aunt Sarah & Uncle Miguel gave him on his first day home, and "Pink", K's gift that same day. He has taken Pink over.
Favorite playground activity: climbing everything, sliding, digging/throwing mulch
Favorite inside activity: playing at his tool workbench, or helping make meals
Favorite snack: marshmallows, Kix cereal, apples, jelly beans
Favorite sweet: T continues to love cookies, and if they have chocolate chips, or raisins, he will mine those out and not eat the rest of the cookie. He likes Oreos too.
Favorite outside activity: running, running, running, running, running
Favorite outfit: He doesn't seem to have much preference during the day, but he loves to wear his airplane pajamas at night
Favorite tv show: Wallace & Gromit, Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Favorite movie: Frozen, Lady & the Tramp
Favorite place to go: anywhere outside!
Favorite friends: C, my friend Heather's son, and C, my friend Shayleen's son. Both of these boys are older than T, but he seems to think they are super cool, especially when they play with him! But K has to be his very best friend. He watches her all day long, taking her lead and playing right along with her. I hope they are best friends forever.
