Besides our book
countdown which the kids totally got into (K asked every day, 'whose turn is it to unwrap a book?') , we did several other activities to feel the Spirit of Christmas in December.

| The kids took turns hanging little ornaments onto our quilted advent calendar, just one per day. It was good practice of their fine motor skills to hang the strings over the star buttons. |

| We had a couple of nativities out that the kids played with. Our pretty Willow Tree one will stay in their boxes for a couple of more years. :) K really got into the story of Christ's birth. She still talks about Mary & Joseph & Baby Jesus. and how they were a family. T enjoyed bringing new characters into the story, can you see Ernie, from Sesame Street, on the table with the wisemen? |

| We attended our church's display of hundreds of nativities that I wrote about here. We ran into some of our favorite friends, the L family, while we were there. I really hope that K & H will be good friends just like their mommies are! |

| I just adore this picture of Andy helping T after we took pictures of him dressed up as Joseph. They are the best of buddies. |

| I took this picture for two reasons, one to remember the cute Christmas shirt that T wore this year, there are little Christmas lights on the 'antlers' on the dino! And to remember the little game that T made up this winter. He walks around with one of our serving spoons hitting that ball like it's a hockey puck. It's adorable! |

| One evening we joined some of our friends to make gingerbread houses. K made the people who went on the front of our house. She LOVED using the brightly colored little candies. |

| K really got into the house part too. I hope this is a tradition that we will do for a long time, the kids both had a blast eating/decorating with the bowls of candy in front of them. |

| After Christmas, we set our gingerbread house outside to see if we could attract some birds, and boy did we! Right now there is only one of the side walls remaining on top of the cardboard. It's been so much fun watching the flocks of birds pick the house apart, I think that's been T's favorite part of the whole thing! |
