Snackin'

Recently K & T seemed to have moved on from eating whole apples when they want a snack, and can now be found reaching into the fruit bowl for pluots!   Usually it's T who wants one, then K races for one too. I can't say enough how much they act because of monkey see, monkey do.  Pluots are juicy and delicious and T insists on 'I bite it', which means he doesn't want it cut up.  They are pretty careful to eat around the seed. We just have to watch that T doesn't spit the skin out after eating the fruit flesh, as he usually just leaves it wherever he is.  We're working on him leaving it in his mouth, or at the very least, taking it to the trash.  No joke, I have bought 24 pluots in the past 10 days, they love them and so do we!  I am happy that K & T are learning to snack on whole fruit, that's a trick I learned from my mom.  Her fruit bowl is always full and always open to whoever wants to eat it.  She keeps a bowl of almonds there too, we will do that in the future. Here's to healthy snackin'!
Clearly enjoying a big bite!
Smiley K.  She wraps herself up in blankets quite often.
Cutie pie kids, yep, those are K's shoes on T.  He grabbed them when she took them off.
Munching away.
Just look at that juice covered face, that pluot must have been delicious K!
Another favorite snack are red grapes.  T calls them 'berries'. We are past the stage where we need to cut them up, so these two just grab them by the handful.  We've taken to putting a few into a cup to make it easier for them to handle, otherwise they just stuff their cheeks like starving squirrels to get their fill.
K showing off her grapes.  "I eat mine" she says.

Silly T showing off his shiny grape snack.
Super pleased with himself.

K offering me a 1/2 eaten grape.  What a sweetie!
We have sweet snacks sometimes too, both kids recently enjoyed a handful of mini-oreos. K was much neater and cleaned up by the time I grabbed the camera.  We had cleaned up T's hands too, but believe you me, there was chocolate cookie everywhere!
Still handsome while covered in cookie.
"I say cheese Mommy!" he says.
Pulling faces, he's such a ham, cookie monster!
Happy Monday! Grab a snack!
