Like most kids, my dear sister Jenny & I loved Christmas and eagerly looked forward to it for months before the big day. Christmas Eve was always a day of great anticipation, and we sisters tried to get started a little early on Christmas Adam. That's right, Christmas Adam. It falls each year on December 23, and if you haven't heard of it, don't worry. It's a totally made-up holiday. We thought we were such geniuses to create this day, and thought of the name because Adam came before Eve. Crazy, silly right? We didn't really think past the name, but each year on Dec. 23 I lovingly recall Christmas Adam as one of my favorite days of the year. It means that Christmas is just around the corner!
Here's a peek into our Christmas Adam (and a few other pics) with K & T.
| Watching a few flurries come down before bedtime. |
| Smiley boy! |
| Working hard in the kitchen, I just love how they stand on their tip toes. |
| K cookin it up. |
| K & T doing a little reading and writing. I heart her concentration in this pic and his giddy little smile. |
| K & T both like to climb on Daddy. He's a good sport about it. |
| Playing with our nativity. There are a few characters here that weren't in the Bible version that we read to K & T. |
| Looking at the tree. She was so good to just look and not touch. |
| Mr. T just couldn't help himself. We didn't have much on the bottom of the tree for this very reason! |
| Our nightly bath, both kids have learned to love this routine. He cries when we take him out! |
| He's calm now and ready for a story and a song. His current favorite song is "If you're happy and you know it". He likes to clap his hands and get a tickle. |
| K is all smiles in the bath too. She has recently started to barter for more time. She sticks out her index finger and says, 'minute' when we try to get her out. It's too cute. |
| T sleeps with these two friends, a Mickey Mouse bath book (because he chews up board books) and 2 binkies every night. He also throws them all out at some point when he wakes up. |
| K loves to bring things to bed and we have had to start limiting her to make sure she leaves some space for herself! She has recently started to sleep on a pillow, and she sleeps with her babydolls Baby and Pippa, Maddie, Zebra, Tramp and of course a couple of books. She doesn't throw anything out anymore but her socks. She does undress and tries to dress her babies up everyday and occasionally takes off her own clothes and tries to put them back on. |
| After her bath K is ready for a story and song. She likes the Pokey Bear song a lot right now. |
| K & T getting their read on! After stories, and songs then we say a family prayer together. K has recently asked to start saying the prayer and we help her. She usually says the last word in the line that we tell her. Both kids fold their arms and say/sign Amen at the end. We are working on the "close your eyes and bow your head" part with them both. :) |

| Random pic: T doesn't really get what is happening yet, he's just happy to be there! |
