We love Independence Day, and are grateful for our freedoms thanks to many who fight in our behalf. Thank you, thank you to those who have served, or who are serving in the Armed Forces. God Bless the USA!
Our city has a terrific fireworks show in honor of Independence Day, and it takes place on the 3rd of July. We happen to have a great view of the fireworks that are shot off at a local park right from our front yard. So, every year we invite some friends and our family over to celebrate with us. It seems that our entire neighborhood has the same idea, it's fun to watch everyone getting ready throughout the week. Everyone's yards look amazing as we get ready for guests. The weather this year was surprisingly cool, and instead of sweating as we usually do this time of year, we had to bring out blankets at the end of the night. I was a bit busy playing hostess, but was able to take a few pictures of the fun that K & T had last night.

| Some of my friends bring activities for the kids to do during the evening. My pal Shayleen brought this amazing bubble solution and giant 'wands' that make gigantic bubbles. She used the recipe found here. The kids picked it up pretty quickly. |

| Another friend of mine, Sarah, drew this fun obstacle course on the sidewalk for the kids to complete. This was one of K's favorite things to do. It included walking in a spiral, marching in place, shaking your booty, and posing like a superhero. |

| Just before the fireworks it was dark enough to bring out the glow bracelets and sparklers. It was not a shock that K preferred the bracelets and T dug the sparklers. |

I didn't get any photos of the fireworks, but they were plentiful, beautiful and loud! The show lasted about 30 mins, it was a perfect evening. We can hardly wait to do it all again next year! Happy Birthday America!
