field trip

We took K & T to see one of our best buds Kevin, at his workplace recently.  Kevin is a paramedic/firefighter and is a lieutenant at his station.  Kevin's wife, Heather, is one of my dearest friends, and watches the kids one day a week right now.  We all love Kevin & were very excited to see the firetrucks up close.
A firehouse, probably one of the only places where leaving clothes on the floor in piles is the right thing to do.
Right off the bat we jumped into an ambulance and Kevin started showing the kids around.
Here's Kevin sharing what he knows.  He's a great teacher!
He hooked K up to monitor her heartbeat, she was a bit nervous....
Kevin showed K her heartbeat, and it actually skipped a beat because she was so excited!  He watched it for a few minutes to make sure she was ok (mostly for my benefit).  Of course, she was.
Andy, T & Kevin, oh boys and their toys!
On the inside door of one of the firetrucks.
Flashlights?  K & T love to play with flashlights, and the firetruck had some huge ones!
"Breaker, breaker!
What a great looking engine!
Looking at the rescue boat that Kevin helped the department get.
T loved looking at the tools, Kevin showed him the jaws of life.  They are huge!
Future firefighter?
She loved being at the wheel!

Daddy & T listening to the sirens and watching the lights on one of the trucks.
Kevin showed us the hose room that every fire department has, it's very tall to allow the hoses to dry properly.
Cutest firefighter around!
Oh, I just love her
Dressing up like Kevin.
Monkey see, monkey do, she wanted a turn too.
When we finished checking out the trucks and the firehouse, Kevin sent us off with all kinds of goodies & of course, hats for the kids.  They have been wearing them all week!
Cheese!
Thank you for showing us around Kevin.  We are proud to know you, not only for your dedication to your family & community, but because of the great guy that you are!
