Trick or Treat!

Happy Halloween from our house to yours!  We've been looking forward to Halloween for quite a few weeks, and have been talking about it with the kids for a few nights.  I'm not sure how much K understood before we actually went trick or treating, but she caught on quickly!  She's such a smartie.  We thought about K & T's costumes for some time and were pleased how they turned out.  K's favorite animal at the zoo this summer was the elephant.  She wanted to go see them first and would watch them for quite some time while we were there.  When I saw this costume early this fall I knew it was the one.  It came with the cutest little pink and white striped tights, but it was WAY too cold for her to wear just those.  Luckily, we had a pair of gray pants that worked perfect for the chilly night.

I knew from the moment that we started calling T, Mr. T, that's that would he would be.  It took me awhile to figure out how to do it, but I found this awesome onesie on etsy and went with it.  Aunt Sarah gave us the necklaces sometime ago from Mardi Gras parade and they worked perfectly.  A little gel and hairspray helped his hair stay up, and a quick eyeliner beard topped it off.  T was quite content through the dressing up process, (he surprisingly wore the necklaces the entire night) but he didn't like the eyeliner.  He kept trying to eat it, and wouldn't let me do any blending whatsoever.  No matter what, we think he looked terrific!
Before we went out trick or treating, we stopped by Nana's for our first goodies of the night.
K was excited to knock on the door...

"Come" she says as Nana comes to the door.

Mr. T was checking out the scene.

Auntie Em is always happy to see T.

It's the cousins!  T, K, S, N & A posed for a few pics before we left for our separate neighborhoods.  We had a great time sharing treats and looking at everyone's costumes.

After Nana's we went back home and headed over to our next door neighbors' as our next stop. They just love K & T, and we just love them!

K said 'treat' to everyone that night, we practiced on Ms. Teresa first.  She hooked K up with goodies and K was so happy!

Mr. T wasn't left out, he even showed off his new walking skills across their kitchen floor. After a quick visit we headed home to eat before heading out for more fun.

Daddy worked hard on a pumpkin that the kids would love on Halloween Eve.  Can you see how excited K is?  She recognized her pal right away.

It's Elmo!  Way to go Daddy!

An attempt to capture our terrific twosome together.  This was the best one of the bunch. See how K's arm is around him?  So cute.

The Middle Baby is our next door neighbor M.  K really likes her, and says her name every time we walk by her house. Our neighbors are such good people.

It got colder as the night went on, and K was the cutest pink elephant on the block with her coat on. She didn't mind a bit.

Auntie Em came over to pass out candy so that we could go out as a family for a little bit.

T lasted exactly three houses before we saw his breath and Daddy took him inside.

Happy Halloween Mr. T & Miss K!

K and I walked up and down our street at her insistence.  She didn't see to mind the cold one bit.  She was warmly greeted and remembered to say 'treat' and signed 'thank you' with just a few reminders.  I don't think she even thought about the candy, she just liked being out and everyone gushing over her.  We stayed out for about 30 mins and then went inside to warm up.  We watched Charlie Brown's Great Pumpkin and then did our normal bedtime routine  Aunt Shelley reported that both K & T slept until 9 this morning, they must have had a great time last night!  It was a fantastic first Halloween together, we look forward to many, many more.
