Two

Happy Birthday Miss K!
She's turning two today.  From the papers we have, she was born at 8:31 PM on November 19, 2012. She was healthy, measured 21 inches long, and weighed 7.7 pounds.  I simply adore being K's Mommy.  She is my shadow and talks and talks and talks to me.  My heart is so full of love for our little girl, especially today.

I am sure that her birthfamily is thinking about her today as we are, what a momentous day it must have been for them two years ago.  You've heard me say that we tell both K & T that adoption means that they are loved by so many people.  We truly feel that way.  Adoption will always be a part of K's life, and we pray for her birthfamily each night when we say family prayer. I would want them to know that K loves her brother more than just about anyone else.  She asks where he is if they are not in the same room, she tries to help him throughout the day, and they usually play very well together. She says new words everyday and is very observant.  She can parts of her body, can identify animals and their sounds, is learning her colors and can usually count to 13.  She is empathetic, sensitive and mindful. She is a rule follower, and will do what she is supposed to even when she doesn't want to. She loves to play with her doll babies, and is enjoying her new birthday toys.  She asks to watch Mickey Mouse everyday, and Lady & The Tramp is still her favorite movie. K loves to play with stickers, likes to color and is just getting into painting with water pages.  She also could spend hours playing at the kitchen sink.  She doesn't seem to like breakfast, but will eat breakfast food at dinner.  Milk is just about her favorite thing in the world.  She drinks a ton of it!  She really enjoys going outside and is a collector of nature when she's out there.  Our stroller is loaded with her treasures thanks to her Nana.  K is a beautiful little girl with an adorable and easy smile, squeezable cheeks and gorgeous eyes.

Here's a look back at K since she arrived home.

Happy, Happy Birthday K! You brought us such joy, and we feel so blessed that we get to be your parents.  Your spontaneous hugs and kisses are music to my ears and to my heart.  You are a beautiful little girl who is incredibly smart and has such a sensitive spirit.  You are a great big sister to T.  We love you so much and pray that you will always be the thoughtful and kind child that you are now.  You are loved by many people Miss K.  We look forward to a lifetime of happiness with you!  I want you to know that you were prayed to our home. This is where you  belong. You are wanted, you are loved, and you are mine.  Happy Birthday sweet girl.

With all my love, Mommy
