W is for Waves

Since it's December, I better wrap up this ABC countdown!  It's amazing how busy our little family can be, but I am so glad that I have this little blog to record our memories, no matter how long it takes me to write about them.  Occasionally I go back and look at early entries, and it's so much fun to see how the kids have grown, what we were doing a couple years ago, and how our lives have changed.  On with the countdown...

One of the most incredible things about our OBX vacation, was the change in the kids and their feelings about the ocean.  Last year they would only let the water lap at their toes if they had an adult with them.  This year, day one, they were running into the waves, sitting in the sand getting knocked over, going out deeper with adults and begging for more water time.  The waves was one of their favorite things about the vacation, and the most fun to watch!

A content T just sitting in the water waiting for waves to get him.
Ooo, he's a handsome guy isn't he?
He was so pleased when he could withstand the waves without falling down.
Now he's just showing off...
Throwing shells and sand back in was also a favorite thing to do.
This little mermaid LOVED the water.  She could have sat here all day.  Literally.
A quick Daddy & Mommy selfie.  We celebrated our 20th anniversary while we were at the beach.  I love this man!
Digging.  After several broken plastic shovels, we remembered to bring our garden shovels this year.  They worked so much better, and we didn't have to replace them after an hour.
One of his favorite things to do.
Mixing.
And they are right back out there!
Daddy playing with the kids in the waves.
Sister selfie in the shade.
Andy tossing a football with Spencer, this was a daily occurrence.
Sometimes the ball would hit the waves, and Spence would dive in to get it.
Covered in sand!  What's best for getting this off?
That's right.  Waves.
W is for Waves.  It was the most wonderful fun!
