We did a lot of decorating to get ready for Christmas. We started Thanksgiving weekend, and have enjoyed our Christmas tree so much. I love sitting on the couch next to it with just the lights on before K & T get up. It's just peaceful.
K & T are learning a lot about Christmas, and I think K really gets it this year. They both know Christmas celebrates the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. They can tell the nativity story, and we've tried to focus on being kind to others as a way to 'give back' to Jesus.
The kids have always liked helping us with any house project, but K was especially insistant that they help decorate the tree this year. In the past we've done it at night, while they are sleeping, but this year we did it during the day because they asked. They loved digging into the boxes when Andy brought them up, and each had their own ideas for where things should go. It was fun to see the excitement on their faces, and only added to the Christmas joy in our home. I've had to let go of the perfect placement of Christmas tree ornaments that I used to really think about. K & T have been rearranging them anyway!

| We got an elf this year! K & T named him Zingle. He hides somewhere new each day. The kids run down the steps in the morning to find him. |

| We have been listening to Christmas music on the radio for about 6 weeks. The kids sing right along, it's so cute! If one of their favorites is on when we pull into our garage, T will ask me if he can sit in his seat and wait to hear the end of it. He's a music kind of guy. |

| We put the little trees in the kids' rooms again this year. K remembered the horse ornaments that Nana had gotten her the year before and was excited to do the lights and beads herself. She tinkers with them daily, and loves to go to sleep with the tree lights on. |

ps. Here's a silly K story. Yesterday we were driving in the car and "Here comes Santa Claus" sung by Gene Autry came on the radio and the three of us were singing along. After the words "Santa Claus comes tonight" were sung, K takes a gasp and says to me, "Tonight? He's coming tonight?" very excited. I remind her how many sleeps we have until Christmas, and that no he isn't coming tonight. She then under her breath says, "He's wrong" after hearing the "Santa Claus comes tonight" line again. :)
