Say no more, Miss K is FOUR!

Four... One. Two. Three. Four. Miss K is four today.  She is so excited to be four, and to be different in age from T.  She's been asking for weeks when will she be four.  She is excited to change car seats too.  She is excited by just about everything.

K is really a sweet and precious little girl.  And she is all girl.  She loves glitter, sparkles, sprinkles, skirts, dancing, dresses, princesses, pink, purple, and puppies.  She is a people pleaser, and is such a smart cookie.  She has learned to write her name and we are working on writing numbers.  She's known all of her letters for a few months.  She wants to 'read' books to T at night and does so from memory.  It's pretty impressive.  K is polite, kind and caring. She is such an awesome person!

K is such a fun little girl to be around.  She has a great imagination and plays pretend for a lot of the day.  She goes on adventures with pretend friends and invites T to go along with her.  She is a great big sis and a junior mom all rolled into one.  Although I'm not sure T loves the junior mom part, she is patient with T throughout most of the day, and really, really loves him.

As I've thought about K turning four, my heart leaps with joy at her incredible progress and health and my heart breaks a little too.  When we first met her she was just a toddler, walking for just a few months and had a few words and signs.  Now she tells the most detailed stories, she skips everywhere and is content to play on the ipad for awhile or paint and color at the table quietly. She loves to run errands with me and is a great car companion.  She talks and talks and talks.  At the store she likes to carry a basket, or if we are lucky, push the little kid cart that our local grocery story has. K asks great questions and is observant of the world around her.  She is very excited to go to preschool next year and is already talking about riding the bus and the friends she will meet when she goes to Kindergarten. This is all going just way too fast.

Happy Birthday Miss K!  You are my favorite little girl in the whole world.  You are my answer to prayer, my wish come true, all wrapped up in one beautiful you. I adore you sweet girl.

She let me take all of these pictures on Monday just because I asked her to.  That's so K.

In our new birthday tradition, I interviewed K using the same questions I asked T last month.  So, from the mouth of our darling little girl, here's K's fourth birthday interview.

How old are you? 4 (shows me 4 fingers). I'm so excited! (she starts jumping up and down)
What is your favorite color?  red and pink and purple. I just like those colors. (she was wearing an Ariel wig at the time I asked her, she's never answered red before).
What is your favorite animal?  Hmm, zebras and giraffes!
What is your favorite book? Mmm, Llama Llama!
What is your favorite TV show?  I like Horseland on Netflix.
What is your favorite movie? Snow White (She's only seen it once, and just recently.  She usually asks to watch Tangled or Frozen). Can we watch it?
What is your favorite song? Princess doo-doo. (It's not what it sounds like. It's a girly version that I made up of the Storm Trooper march that we sing for T when he has his Storm Trooper jammies on. She usually asks to sing Teach Me to Walk in the Light or If You're Happy and You Know It.)
What is your favorite food? Carrots! What I just ate!
What is your favorite breakfast? Cereal bars (apple nutrigrain bars)
What is your favorite drink? Juice. Orange Juice.
What is your favorite snack? ah-libs. (black olives that she likes to put on each finger)
What is your favorite outfit? I like to stay in my jammies. (That's true, she asks to stay in them most mornings.)
What is your favorite game? Bingo with my friends. (I don't know when she's ever played bingo, but she insisted that she's played with her friends.  She does have friends, but some of them are imaginary.  She likes to pretend to go on outings and adventures with her made up pals, and comes back and tells me all about them).
What is your favorite toy?  I think it's dress up. I like my Tangled dress.
Who is your best friend? Ahh, I think it's Olivia. She's my best friend. (She is a 10 year girl who goes to our church and lives down the street.  We like to get together with her family and K adores attention from Olivia.)
What is your favorite thing to do? Here? I like to play with balloons, and color. (as she is currently holding two purple balloons and sitting at the kitchen table where we had just been coloring with T).
What is your favorite thing to do outside? Play with bouncy balls outside with T.
What is your favorite place to go? I like to go to the zoo, I like to see the zebras.(T runs over and says that the zebras are BIG! and she argues back, No they are not.  I just like them).
Where do you want to go on vacation? The beach house with you and Dad.
What do you want to be when you grow up? In your school.  Can you show me how everything works? (I love that answer!!)

Happy Birthday K, we are sure your coming year is going to be awesome!
