golden springtime: Valentine's Day

We had a terrific Vday around here. Our hearts continue to be full of love and awe for these little ones. It's been so much fun thinking about traditions that we want to start with them and how very different and awesome our lives are from a year ago. Aunt Shelley came to play with K & T while Andy & I were at work during the day. I snapped these pics Thursday & Friday afternoon as we celebrated the great love we feel in our home.

One of my firsties gave me this musical/light up rose. T loved it.

He is so his father's son. Anything can be turned into a lightsaber. Instantly.

K sported this heart shirt to celebrate the big day.

T chose a necklace. We only have the finest things at our house.

K turned a necklace into a bracelet. We're all about the ....

T later grabbed this hat from the basket,

and K decided to try on my valentine flipflops. She said to me "No working!" Translation: "These are WAY to big for my feet Mommy, and I can't walk!"

Meanwhile, T started to act a little silly with his hat...

and K tried on another pair of shoes.

Alas, it was time for dinner. Roast, potatoes and veggies. Mr. Independent will NOT let anyone help him.

But, he's getting better at feeding himself. Now, if he would only tell us that he's done instead of turning his plate upside down on his tray, or throwing his food off onto the floor.

After dinner, T built this mound of pillows while K played at the table with the guys.

After a few books and a little pillow fight, we were off for baths and bed.

We continued our Vday celebration today after a trip to the doctor (T weighs 22 lbs now!) and a playgroup breakfast with our pals. It was so much fun to see everyone. We had a couple of gifts for K & T, here they are waiting for them after their nap.
