On Friday we went to school and my fabulous firsties got to meet K & T. I was so excited to see Club 406 (what I affectionately call my class) and even teared up when I walked into the library! The parents in my room had put together such a sweet baby shower. The tables were covered with bright yellow paper, the first graders were eating lunch waiting for us, a table was piled high with presents and there was even a welcome sign! I seriously have the best class. We were blessed with many gifts, but one of my very favorites was a book called, "The Mommy Book" that my class put together. Each student had written their advice for me as a new mommy. I just have to share it here! Each page starts with, "My advice to you..."
*You can feed them. When the babies cry you can give them a bottle. You can play with the babies. -ZS
*She can give the babies something to eat. Even something to drink. You can rock the babies to sleep. -CB
*You can change their diapers when the babies are crying. You can give them their bottle. You can dress them. -CW
*You have to give her a bottle in the morning. You have to give him a bottle too. You have to give them a bath. -TB
*You should take your kids to the park. And to school. You can take them out. -TS
*Get close for them. Kiss them goodnight. Read them a story before they go to bed. -BK
*Give them naps. Give them baby food. Bring them places. Do not forget to change them. -SG
*You should only let them watch tv for 4 hours. You should buy a colorful crib. You should let them go upstairs and down. -EG
*If your babies cry get them a binky. Let your babies upstairs and downstairs. Bring your babies to school. -AS
*You are the best mom. You have to give the babies milk. When the babies cry let them sleep. -BO
*Make sure you feed your kids milk. Make sure you give them a place to sleep. Make sure you change their diapers. -SN
*Take care of them. You should feed them. You should make them take a nap.-SH
*If they cry give them a bottle. Because they want to play or they want to talk. Let them play with toys in bed. Put them to bed. -DA
*You can make baby food for dinner for your baby. Make baby food for your babies. You can play with your babies. -MG
*You can go to the park with them. Play games with them. Give them milk. You are going to be the best mom. -LK
*Be nice to the babies. Don't yell at night. Feed the babies. -HS
*You should let them watch tv for only 4 hours. You should feed them. You should put them to bed. -LF

*Let the babies watch tv. Let the babies go to school. Let the babies go to the playground. -RH
*Don't forget to burp the babies. Put them to bed. Give them a hug. -AM

Thank you, thank you Club 406 for a wonderful day. You and your families are awesome. The gifts are terrific and so unexpected. K can hardly wait to play with the sand & water table outside, and we've already built the shopping cart. K has been pushing it all over the kitchen collecting all kinds of goodies for the cart. Of course K & T will be so cute in all of the clothes, and we got some great books too! I will remember today, and all of the advice, forever! Club 406 ROCKS!
