We have an official teenager in the house! K has been waiting for this day since she was about 9. She got a sweatshirt last year from a friend that says 'teenager' on it, and she's been happily wearing it for over a year, teasing us that this day was coming soon.
K is in 7th grade this year, and is just so, so smart. She loves to read & enjoys writing too. She's great at science and works hard at math. At school, she's a proud member of the show choir and enjoys going to practices after school, especially because she has a lot of friends there. She's on the middle school swim team too, and likes those practices too. On most Saturdays, she has a horseback riding lesson, and on Sundays she's involved with our church youth group. K is a hard worker at everything she does. She is kind, polite, and occasionally sassy. She's a chatterbox at times, and also likes things quiet. She loves music and still likes to be creative with crafts and painting. She even likes football, and is a huge Joe Burrow fan. K is a joy to be around.
This year we had the kids pick an experience to have instead of having a birthday party, and Kate chose to go see the Broadway musical of Aladdin this week when it came to town. She said it is now one of her very favorites, and she likes it more than the cartoon or live action movie. We are just sure that 13 is going to be a whole new world! In our birthday tradition, I interviewed K using the most of the same questions I asked T last month. From the mouth of our beloved little girl, here's K's 13th birthday interview.
How old will you be tomorrow? 85. (she laughs to herself) 13.
Are you excited about your birthday? Yes! Because I get to annoy you because I'm an official teenager.

What is your favorite book? Harry Potter. Which one? uh, 4.
What is your favorite TV show? Dateline
What is your favorite movie? Oh my gosh, there's so many of them. Twilight.

What is your favorite song? I'll Never Not Dance Again by Pink, or I Love It. (by icona pop) (eighth year in a row)
What is your favorite food? Cheeseburger pizza
What is your favorite ice cream? Peanut butter chocolate chip
What is your favorite breakfast? Reese's Puffs cereal
What is your favorite snack? Anything in the freezer
What is your favorite piece of clothing? Any oversized hoodie, or my plaid pajama pants

What are you most of proud of yourself for? Putting in contacts
Who is your best friend? E (a friend from church, they have been close for years)
What are some of your hobbies? Sleeping, watching tv and reading
