Double.Digits. We are finally here.

K is 10! She has been looking forward to this day for months, and even started telling people she was 10 this summer. K is such a wonderful person.  She is kind, a good friend to others, creative, serious, sassy and has a million things to say.  She loves to create, craft, cook, bake, sew, paint and put together.  She loves working with her hands. She is learning to knit from my mom, and love to sew scraps together in Nana's basement.  She loves legos and school and friends. K is a joy!

This summer of 2020 the kids joined the swim team at the pool we belong to for the second year.  Each week day they got up early to go to swim practice and didn't complain.  Many days we would come home for lunch and then head back to the pool.  We were so thankful for the pool and that there was someplace for the kids to have fun.  We wore masks in, and had our temperatures taken each day. We loved playing at the pool all summer.  As the fall came, it was clear that Covid was still sticking around, and the kids usual fall sport, soccer, wasn't going to be played. The kids' swim coach told them about a year round swim team that they could try out for if they were interested, and they were. So, in September the kids tried out and both made the team!  Our days are now filled with school and swim.  They swim 3 nights a week which keeps us really busy.  Again, we are thankful for it.  They have an outlet for energy, it's such good exercise and they are making new friends, something that's hard to do in a pandemic. K's favorite stroke is the backstroke, she's really fast. Like she does with everything, she gives swim 100%.

K is growing up!  She prides herself on being independent, and responsible.  She is super smart and knows it.  She likes the extra reading and writing she gets to do at school because she's so smart.  She also recently passed her 'rocket math' for multiplication, the first in her class to do so.  We are so thankful that she loves to learn.

10 seems so old to me, especially when I think back to the chubby cheeked toddler that she was when when she came home. But I am incredible thankful that she is healthy and growing.

In our birthday tradition, I interviewed K using the most of the same questions I asked T last month. From the mouth of our beloved little girl, here's K's tenth birthday interview.
